A new study of the scientists proved that, the power of Malaria spreading mosquitoes is increasing at alarming rate. It will create problem to eliminate the disease by root (Source 1). Scientists have confirmed that in Thailand and Burma, there is no effect of drug/spray on the Malaria spreading mosquitoes. In southern Cambodia, the victims of these mosquitoes suffer severely because there is no effect of drug on them. Dr. standwell Nkhoma from Texas Bio-medical Research Institute says, the growing defense capability of Malaria mosquito might cause millions of deaths in South East Asia region (Source 2).
The experts of Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) studied the period of 2001 to 2010 and found that, the Medicines to treat malaria are proving less effective than before and the 20 percent patients whom medicine is being given remain totally ineffective at all (Source 3). Dr. Francois Nosten, the member of study group mentioned this changing environment as very critical and serious for years to come. He says “the conventional method of combating Malaria will suffer heavily and several new areas will badly affect by this calamity”.
According to Researchers, the improving defense capacity of mosquito’s means that we have to work hard and we might face tough time while eradicating Malaria. This research in detail is published in the medical journal “The Lanst”. Currently, the most effective drug for the Malaria has been made from the China’s plant Artemisia Annua. This is also known as “Sweet Wormwood”.
In 2009, Researchers have found that, the deadly mosquitoes are responsible for the spreading of Malaria disease. According to World malaria report 2010, more than 650000 people had died because of Malaria. Most of them were children and pregnant women (Source 4).
